چکیده

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND The process of thermal decomposition of dichloromethane (DCM) and chlorobenzene (MCB) during the combustion in an inert, bubbling fluidized bed, supported by LPG as auxiliary fuel, have been studied. The concentration profiles of C6H5CI, CH2Cl2, CO2, CO, NOx, COCl2, CHCl3, CH3Cl, C2H2, C6H6, CH4 in the flue gases were specified versus mean bed temperature. RESULTS The role of preheating of gaseous mixture in fluidized bed prior to its ignition inside bubbles was identified as important factor for increase the degree of conversion of DCM and MCB in low bed temperature, in comparison to similar process in the tubular reactor. CONCLUSIONS Taking into account possible combustion mechanisms, it was identified that autoignition in bubbles rather than flame propagation between bubbles is needed to achieve complete destruction of DCM and MCB. These condition occurs above 900°C causing the degree of conversion of chlorine compounds of 92-100%.

Olive Cake Combustion in a Circulating Fluidized Bed

In this study, a circulating fluidized bed of 125 mm diameter and 1800 mm height was used to find the combustion characteristics of olive cake (OC) produced in Turkey. Olive cake alone and olive cake+lignite coal mixtures were burned separately. Various olive cake/lignite coal ratios were tried. A suitable feeding mechanism of olive cake to the bed was developed. On-line concentrations of O2, S...

Modeling the Thermal Decomposition of Chlorinated Hydrocarbons in an Ideal Turbulent Incinerator

Combustion of wastes is an effective disposal technology. Although there are many examples of application in industry, severe environmental concerns are raised regarding the emissons from incinerators. Thermal treatment plants are usually comprised of a primary combustion chamber followed by a second combustion chamber, as schematically described in Fig. 1. During the oxidation of solid and liq...

Assessment of PAH emissions of coal combustion variables as a function

The influence of fluidized bed combustion (FBC) temperature and coal rank on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emissions was assessed. A low-rank coal and a high-rank coal were burnt in a fluidized bed reactor (FBR) on a laboratory scale. An outlet gas sample was passed through a capture system provided with three traps: nylon titer, Teflon filter and XAD-2 resin. The PAH captured were anal...

A Pilot Study of Syngas Production from Bio-oil Thermal Cracking in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed Reactor

A fluidized bed reactor that is operating in the bubbling regime has been developed for the conversion of bio-oils to syngas. The reactor consists of a 7.6 cm I.D. (or internal diameter) bed, with an expanded freeboard. The volume of the reactor can be adjusted to vary the gas residence time. This reactor has been used to carry out either thermal or catalytic cracking for reforming bio-oils.A ga...

Evaluation of Eulerian Two-Fluid Numerical Method for the Simulation of Heat Transfer in Fluidized Beds

Accurate modeling of fluidization and heat transfer phenomena in gas-solid fluidized beds is not solely dependent  on the particular selected numerical model and involved algorithms. In fact, choosing the right model for each specific operating condition, the correct implementation of each model, and the right choice of parameters and boundary conditions, determine the accuracy of the results i...
